Saudi Organization for Standardization and Quality (SAUDI)
has announced that it is implementing a new technical regulation for
water saving tools and procedures for implementation at the beginning of
the next Hijri year, including all tools used in homes, factories and

This was in a workshop organized by the Authority on Wednesday 26 July
2017 at the headquarters of Asharqia Chamber in Dammam, which discussed the definition of the technical tools for rationalization of water
and the procedures for its application within the definition program of
this regulation for the purpose of protecting the consumer and the Saudi
market of non-conforming products that do not comply with water
conservation programs,
The
workshop was opened by the Director General of the Authority in the Eastern
Region Tamas Bin Ali Al Hammadi. The participation of a number of
sanitary ware makers and suppliers welcomed the efforts of the Authority
to reach the Saudi market to the natural situation in water
consumption, reduce waste water as a national treasure, that is incompatible with the principle of rationalization, as an important moral and economic principle.
He
reviewed the conformity expert in the Authority Engineer Muhamed Tahir
Huraira items of the regulation, which will start the actual
implementation of the beginning of the next Hijri year 1439 e. He pointed out that the rationalization programs initiated by the
concerned authorities in the Kingdom are compatible with the
international working methods and the principles of the World Trade
Agreements, which emphasize the preparation of technical regulations
concerning the safety and health of the consumer and comply with
international environmental standards. These regulations apply to all
tools regardless of origin.
He
pointed that the tools intended for the regulation are: shower
heads, shower taps / mixers, faucets / mixers for public and private
toilets, faucets / mixers benches, rinsing taps / taps, that.
He
pointed out that the importance of implementing the regulation program
from the fact that the Kingdom is ranked third in the consumption of water (after America and Canada) at the rate of 300
liters per day, while the global rate of 150-200 liters per day,
although the Kingdom of the most countries Water
is rare in water because of its limited natural water sources.
Rainfall is estimated to be 7 mm per year. 20% of the water in the
Kingdom is wasted by leaks and 30% of water is consumed in domestic

Najla
Al Nafisi and Jawhara Bint Dahish of the National Water rationalization Program at the National Water Company presented a detailed presentation

saving tools and procedures for applying for a license from the
Authority.

Standards and Quality Authority within the framework of the
induction program of the technical regulations for the tools of
rationalization of water consumption, directed to the manufacturers and
